Audio Pitch and Speed Changer

This free online audio pitch changer and tempo changer lets you change the key and BPM of any song right in your browser. Shift the pitch up or down by up to 12 semitones, speed the music up or slow it down from 50% to 200% without changing the pitch, shape the sound with effects, and download the result as an MP3 or WAV file. Your audio is processed on your own device, so nothing is uploaded and there is no sign-up.

How to change the key and tempo of a song

Click Upload audio, or drop a file into the waveform area. MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC and WebM files work, and you can also use a video file to pull out its audio. Once the waveform appears, press Play and move the Key and Tempo controls while the music is playing. The change is heard instantly, with no waiting, so you can find the right key for your voice or the right speed for practice by ear. Use the minus and plus buttons for one step at a time, drag the slider for bigger moves, and press Reset to go back to the original.

Pitch shifter and key changer

The Key control transposes the song in semitones, from minus 12 to plus 12, while the speed stays the same. This is useful for singers who need a song in a lower or higher key, for guitarists and pianists who want to play along in an easier key, and for matching two tracks. The Engine panel also has a fine pitch control in cents, so you can correct a recording that is slightly out of tune or match another track exactly.

BPM changer and time stretch

The Tempo control slows down or speeds up the music without changing the key, which makes it a handy practice tool for learning fast passages. Once the original BPM is known, the box shows the new BPM live as you move the slider. You can also select just one part of the song on the waveform, then turn on Loop to repeat that section while you practise. Use the zoom and move controls to place the selection precisely.

Key and BPM detector

Press Detect key and BPM and the app analyses the song and fills in its original key and tempo, along with a confidence level. Detection is not perfect for every song, so you can open Edit key and BPM at any time to correct either value, or use the half and double speed buttons if the tempo feels off by an octave. Whatever you confirm is what the editor uses to show the new key and BPM, and it is also added to the name of the downloaded file.

Sound settings and effects

Open Sound settings to polish the audio. Turn the wheels for gain, target loudness, compressor, limiter, warmth, stereo width and balance, and use the ten band equalizer with low cut and high cut to boost bass or add brightness. Add reverb, room size, pre delay, damping and echo for space and depth. Ready made presets such as Vocal clarity, Bass boost, Warm vintage, Podcast voice and Cathedral give you a quick starting point, and Reset all returns every setting to flat.

Engine and sound quality

The Engine panel controls how the key and tempo are changed. A longer window keeps chords, bass and pads smooth, while a shorter window keeps drums and plucked notes sharp. Attack sharpness protects drum hits, and the overlap and resampler options let you trade speed for quality. Presets for music, vocals, drums, ambient sound and studio quality choose good values for you. The same engine is used for playback and for the download, so what you hear is what you get, even after large key shifts.

Download as MP3 or WAV

Open Download to choose MP3 or WAV, then pick the sample rate, stereo or mono, the bitrate for MP3 or the bit depth for WAV, and optional fade in and fade out. You can save the whole song or only the selected part, and you can let the reverb and echo ring out at the end. The estimated file size is shown before you start. Long or complex songs can take a little while to render, so a progress window keeps you informed until the file is ready.

Free, private and works on every device

The editor works on desktop, tablet and mobile screens, with a light and dark theme and a full screen mode. On a keyboard, press Space to play or pause and L to loop. Everything runs inside your browser, so your music stays on your device, and the tool is free to use for as many songs as you like.
