How to Play, Record and Download Harmonium Online

How the Online Harmonium Works

This free online harmonium lets you play a realistic harmonium right in your browser, with no download, install or sign-up. It plays recorded harmonium sounds across 37 keys, from C2 to C5, so you can play melodies, bhajans, practice scales or add a simple accompaniment to your singing. The instrument loads when you open the page, and a small progress circle shows while the sounds are loading. Playing starts as soon as every note is ready, so each key sounds right from the first press.

Play with Keyboard, Mouse or Touch

You can play the harmonium keys by clicking them with a mouse, tapping them on a phone or tablet, or typing on your computer keyboard. The keyboard layout follows the piano pattern: the bottom letter row plays the white keys and the row above plays the black keys, then the top letter row and the number row continue to the higher octave, so all 37 keys are reachable without moving your hands. The Keys and Notes buttons show or hide the computer-key labels and note names on the keys, and the Play guide explains the layout. While you play, the bellows on top of the instrument open and close, just like a real harmonium being pumped.

Coupler, Bass and Drone

Three brass stops sit above the keys. Coupler adds the upper octave to every note for a fuller, brighter sound. Bass adds the lower octave reed for a deeper tone. Drone plays a steady Sa and Pa underneath your melody, which is useful for riyaz, singing practice and devotional music, and it follows the Transpose setting so your drone always matches the key you are playing in. The Sustain Pedal is on by default so notes ring out naturally, and you can hold the space bar to hold notes like a pedal.

Transpose, Volume and Sound Settings

Transpose moves the whole harmonium up or down by semitones to match a singer’s scale, and the volume slider goes up to 200 percent for a louder output. The Sound panel gives you round knobs grouped into Notes, Space, Tone and Master. Notes controls playback speed, transpose, sustain length and touch dynamics. Space adds reverb, room size and echo. Tone shapes bass, mid, treble and warmth. Master controls stereo width, compression and overall volume. You can also pick a ready preset such as Concert hall, Warm vintage or Cathedral, drag a knob up or down to change it, and double-click a knob to reset it. Your settings are remembered the next time you visit.

Record, Play Back and Download

Press Record and play, and your take appears on a timeline where you can play it back, drag to select just one part and clear it to start again. The Demo button plays a sample tune so you can hear the instrument, and it can be recorded too. When you are happy, open the Download panel and save your recording as an MP3 or WAV file. You can choose the bitrate, sample rate and mono or stereo, download the whole recording or only the selected part, normalize the loudness, let the last notes ring out, remove silence at the start, and add a fade in or fade out. Everything is processed in your own browser, so your music stays on your device.

Works on Every Screen

The harmonium adjusts to desktop, tablet and mobile screens, and you can switch between the light and dark theme or go full screen with the buttons at the top right. On a small phone, turn the device sideways or swipe along the keys to reach every note.
