How the Online Synth Drum Kit Works
This free online synth drum kit gives you a grid of drum pads in your browser, with no download, install or sign-up. Each pad plays a pitched synth drum sound, so you can tap out beats, build rhythms or practice finger drumming. A progress circle shows while the sounds load, and the pads respond as soon as everything is ready.
Play with Keyboard, Mouse or Touch
Tap the pads like a drum machine, by clicking them with a mouse, touching them on a phone or tablet, or using your computer keyboard. The pads mirror the keyboard rows, so what you see on screen is exactly what is under your fingers. The Keys and Notes buttons show or hide the labels, and the Play guide shows the layout.
Pads and Beats
Each pad is a pitched drum sound, so lower pads sound deeper and higher pads sound sharper, and you can play patterns with both hands on the keyboard. Use the Transpose buttons to shift every pad up or down and the sound knobs to add reverb or echo for bigger beats.
Transpose, Volume and Sound Settings
The Sound panel groups its round knobs into Notes, Space, Tone and Master. Notes controls playback speed, transpose, sustain length and touch dynamics, Space adds reverb, room size and echo, Tone shapes bass, mid, treble and warmth, and Master sets stereo width, compression and overall volume. Drag a knob up or down to change it, double-click to reset it, or pick a ready preset such as Concert hall, Warm vintage or Cathedral. The Transpose buttons move the synth drum kit up or down by semitones to match a singer or another instrument, the volume slider goes up to 200 percent, and your settings are remembered for your next visit.
Record, Play Back and Download
Recording is built in. Press Record, play the synth drum kit, and watch your performance appear on a timeline. You can play it back, select a section by dragging across it and clear the take to start over, and the Demo button gives you a ready tune to record. When you are ready, the Download panel saves an MP3 or WAV file, with options for bitrate, sample rate, mono or stereo, the whole recording or the selected part, level normalizing, ringing last notes, silence trimming and fade in or fade out. Your audio is processed in your own browser and never leaves your device.
Works on Every Screen
You can use it on a laptop, tablet or phone, because the layout scales to fit the screen. Switch the theme between light and dark or open full screen with the small buttons at the top right.
